We had to figure out how to pack all of our stuff, get the cats to the UK, and get the house ready for us to leave.
We packed pretty much everything into 4 suitcases, two carry-ons (including the cats!) and a few boxes that got dropped in the mail!
The journey included flying from Rochester to Washington – Dulles, then on to Amsterdam. From there we took an overnight ferry to Newcastle in the UK. Next was an Uber down to Durham to meet our leasing agent to get the keys to the Durham house!
Deb got a good omen on the flight to DC!
The ferry from Amsterdam to Newcastle was really nice, but the cabin was small. But this was the only way all four of us could stay together for the journey!
It was very exciting when we got to Newcastle!
First mate Greta is on the job! We made it to the Port of Tyne! Next stop – Durham!

As you can tell by the picture of Billy and Greta in their carriers, they were NOT amused! So much for their “adventure.” But they got through it.
