A Townmouse Christmas, York!

This year the Fairfax House in York hosted “A Townmouse Christmas” where the Georgian mansion is decorated with little white mice all over the house! There are a couple hundred mice spread out in all sorts of scenes, outfits, and activities, all while celebrating the Christmas Holidays.

Some mice were skiing!

While some arrived by hot air balloon (above), some mice arrived by carriage:

Some were enjoying festive food and drink! A special guest gave a blessing over the food.

The mouse “staff” were hard at work as well!

The more “refined” mice were painting and doing needlepoint:

And others were just having a great time!

While one was up to no good, stealing the candles!

The house itself is also beautiful, full of period furniture and artwork.

A lovely day in York during the holidays, and a cute idea to decorate a beautiful house! Pittock Mansion (Portland, OR) and George Eastman House (Rochester, NY), are you listening?!

    1. We went with our friend, Mo, from Durham. While touring the house I told them about my cartoon character, Macho Mouse, that I would draw as a kid. Dave didn’t know… hehehe
