St. Andrews and the Scottish Coast

Our good friend Mark came over from New York to visit his Mom in Scotland so we headed back up north! First, we went to St. Andrews by train. The weather was great and we were able to get some rare pictures of the Scottish coast.

This is Berwick-upon-Tweed from the train.

We followed a rugged coastline and a beautiful rainbow for much of the journey.

Looking back toward Edinburgh and Arthur’s Seat:

After that we spent the night in St. Andrews where we met Mark for some golf the next day. Our hotel was all decorated for the Christmas Holidays!

And so was the town of St. Andrews!

The next day we met Mark and played golf on the Eden course, which is right next to the Old Course. It was chilly but a beautiful day!

Here they are preparing to re-turf the bunker faces.

When in St. Andrews you always have to take pictures on the Swilcan Bridge:

And no visit is complete without a stop at the rooftop bar at the Rusack’s Hotel with its amazing views of the Old Course and the Sea.

  1. Either Scotland has a bad reputation for its weather, or you just luck out😉. The pics are beautiful (brings back memories)! What did you find at the end of the rainbow?
